Out of the fresh rise, four patients are admitted to the Lokbandhu Hospital while Civil Hospital and Balrampur Hospital have seen two and three new admissions, respectively. According to the health department reports, the dropping platelet count is one of the major drivers of complications amongst the patients.

Out of the patients admitted last week, a 19-year-old boy succumbed to the viral infection and lost his life. As per officials, a continuous drop in platelet count caused a multi-organ failure and the boy could not be saved.

In view of the current situation, the health and administrative officials are working on a list of measures to curtail the spread in the city. As a part of this, regular fogging, cleaning and sanitation activities are being conducted across different areas in the city. In addition to this, public vigilance has become the need of the hour.
