Amid the dipping scale of coronavirus infection, Lucknow has found itself in the clutches of another health concern. Dengue cases in the city have been on the rise yet again, wherein a fresh load of 11 cases has been added to the total tally on Thursday. As per reports, a tally of 1,550 dengue cases has been recorded in Lucknow this season, despite the implementation of multiple preventive measures and drives.

Going by reports, the recent Dengue surge in Lucknow has been recorded in Indira Nagar, Aliganj, Silver Jubilee, Turiyaganj, ANK road, Redcross, Malihabad, Chandra Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Aishbag among other prominent locales of the city. The infection has been detected in six women and five men, including an elderly patient. The patients are currently in stable conditions, suggested sources.
Meanwhile, several health teams are already deployed to conduct a door-to-door survey across Lucknow to trace dengue cases and conditions. This force, notably, inspected 3,828 houses on Thursday and issued notices to 3 households to warn them against dengue susceptibility in their house and vicinity.
In addition to this, the Health Department and LMC teams also conducted anti-larvae sprinkling and fogging drives at Safdalbagh and Kurmit in Lucknow under its campaign to stop the dengue spread.
