Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance mobile coverage across underground Metro sections in Lucknow, Kanpur and Agra. The agreement was formalised on Wednesday in New Delhi, with UPMRC Director (Rolling Stock), Naveen Kumar, in attendance.

Improved coverage for metro passengers

BSNL will utilise UPMRC’s existing In-Building Solution (IBS) infrastructure to strengthen mobile networks in current and upcoming underground Metro corridors. As per reports, this partnership aligns with the organisation’s commitment to efficient, safe, and digitally enabled urban transport.

The initiative aims to deliver seamless mobile network access throughout underground Metro routes, marking an advancement in commuter convenience and connectivity.
