Geared in gloves and masks, armed with sanitisers, the Lucknow Metro cleaning staff dives into a thorough and meticulous cleaning and sanitation process 2 days ahead of its scheduled resumption day, September 7.

Lucknow metro had suspended all travel facilities and services with the imposition of the nationwide lockdown in March. While the UPMRCL authorities have been running test trails of the metro trains and sanitation protocols since June, the cleaning staff has been deployed yet again to prepare for a safe environment for intracity travel and transport.
High contact zones such as staircase bannisters and lifts are being santised, corridors and passages are also under the process of cleaning. The MD of Lucknow Metro himself inspected the entire drive to make sure that no stone is left unturned in providing a world-class and safe experience to the travellers who return after 5 long months.
For this purpose, special COVID help desks have been installed at every station to facilitate convenient access in case of any health-related emergencies. Travellers won't be allowed to enter the station premises without face masks and special attention would be given to ensure the practice of social distancing at the station as well as in the carriages.
If all passengers strictly adhere to the SOPs, the station hygiene protocols and norms of social distancing, Lucknow Metro may emerge as one of the safest mode of public transport in the city.
