Lucknow Metro Phase 2: New Charbagh-Vasant Kunj line to include 7 underground stations

The second phase of the Lucknow Metro is set to begin soon, extending from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj. The East–West corridor will span 11.165 km and include 12 stations, with 7 underground and 5 elevated. As per a recent report, the metro line will run 100 feet below ground to bypass old sewer lines, pipelines and drains. Construction is expected to take 4–5 years.

The corridor will connect densely populated areas such as Aminabad, Chowk, and Thakurganj, ending at Vasant Kunj. Charbagh Station will serve as an interchange, enabling passengers to switch between metro lines.

  • Length: 11.165 km

    • Elevated section: 4.286 km

    • Underground section: 6.879 km

  • Total Stations: 12

    • Underground: Charbagh, Gautam Buddha Marg (Latouche Road), Aminabad, Pandeyganj, City Station, Medical College Chauraha, Chowk

    • Elevated: Thakurganj, Balaganj, Sarfarazganj, Moosabagh, Vasant Kunj
