The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is expediting the development of the new East-West corridor for Lucknow Metro. The 11.165 km corridor's DPR received approval from the Network Planning Group (NPG) in a high-level meeting in New Delhi.

In the latest update, UPMRC has invited bids for the geotechnical investigation in August 2024, with an estimated budget of ₹77.21 lakh and a completion timeline of 90 days. Currently, 11 firms are competing for this tender.

The geotechnical survey is a crucial preliminary step before construction begins, involving assessments of soil characteristics, groundwater levels, and other factors critical to ensuring a safe and cost-effective design and construction of the metro line.
