Lucknow News | Bangla Bazar ROB to be inaugurated today

Jatin Shewaramani

The much-awaited Bijnor-Bangla Bazar railway over bridge (ROB) in Lucknow will be opened for public from today. With the new ROB, commuters will no longer be required to wait at the manned crossing on the Uttratia Junction-Alamnagar bypass track.

The new ROB will further help in decongesting Lucknow-Kanpur NH by providing alternative access to other points of the city including Bijnor, Mansarovar, Ramabai Ambedkar Maidan, Shaheed Path and others.

The structure is Lucknow's fastest constructed ROB

Notably, the construction work on the 1,180 meters long 4-lane bridge began in February 2021 with the joint effort of state bridge corporation and Northern Railways. The project was scheduled to complete by March 2023. Considerably, the authorities were able to complete the work more than 100 days prior the scheduled deadline, making it Lucknow's fastest constructed ROB.

The Bangla Bazar ROB will be inaugurated today by the National Defence Minister after which the public will be able to access the route. Citizens travelling to and fro from Kanpur road to the CCS Airport in Lucknow will also benefit from this ROB.
