Lucknow News | Pending electricity bills? Pay up or face the penalty!

The Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration will be looking into rising electricity thefts.

As a result of rising electricity thefts and the onset of summers, the Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration or LESA is kicking off a drive. The rise in temperatures is also contributing to an increased demand in power for which the campaign would be helpful.

Action will be taken against power defaulters, a list of which will be prepared by LESA with the aid of Meter Reading Instrument (MRI). These debt-dodgers will be charged with penalty equivalent to an electricity bill of a year. Moreover, enforcement raids to will ensure booking such users. For those who will accept their fault and will be willing to pay the fees, LESA will not register a case against them and may offer concession in penalty.
