Non-compliance could result in fines or imprisonment

Ahead of the New Year celebrations, Lucknow Police have enforced strict guidelines for organising public events in the city. Now, organisers of various programmess—including rallies, religious events, celebrity promotions, parties, film shoots, and even exhibitions—must obtain permission in advance. The move comes as the police aim to manage traffic flow and maintain law and order during busy times.

Submit your application 15 days in advance

To simplify the process, applications can be submitted online via the Lucknow Police website’s "Citizen Services" page. Organisers are required to submit their applications at least 15 days prior to the event, to ensure timely approval. This measure will help the police better manage logistics, for ambulance, and VIP movements, while minimising disruptions at key intersections.

Additionally, events like protests or rallies must be held at the designated "Kanshiram Public Facility Complex and Parking Place" (Eco Garden). For entertainment events like Christmas or New Year's Eve celebrations, the District Magistrate's approval is necessary. Non-compliance could result in fines or imprisonment, with a maximum penalty of six months or ₹20,000.

For a smooth event experience, organisers are urged to apply through the Nivesh Mitra portal, ensuring necessary safety certifications are submitted online.
