Soon the residents of Lucknow will be able to travel to Chandrika Devi Temple with ease, as the road leading to the temple will be widened and repaired by the administration soon. In an effort to facilitate easier and smoother traffic movement, the Public Work Department will undertake repair work on the road leading to Chandrika Devi Temple from Sitapur Road. Apart from the repair work, the authorities will also widen the 11.45 kilometre long road as well. According to the reports available at present, the work on this project is expected to start this month.

This transformation project also includes removal of the rampant encroachment along the road. For this, PWD has partnered up with the district administration and the police department to carry anti-encroachment drive on this route. According to Er. A.K. Singh, this project in total is estimated to cost around ₹41.83 crore. Moreover, the PWD has now obtained approval to repair the path of Chandrika Devi Temple now. After receiving the permission, the process of tender for the construction of this road has been expedited by the concerned department as well.

Reportedly, the Municipal Corporation has allotted 49 roads to PWD to conduct repair work on these major roads in the city as well. While ₹15 crore has been allocated for Indira Nagar and Vikas Nagar, a total of ₹28 crore has been assigned for the roads of Ashiyana. While the repair work has started on 10 major roads in the first phase, the department aims to complete this project soon.
