Knocksense Staff

Delhi is the closest metropolitan city to Lucknow and it is the city thousands of Lucknowites move to in search of better opportunities, some simply to conduct business. Which means that the two cities have thousands and thousands of people travelling between them every single day. Among the given mode of transportation, railway is the means we just cannot deny is the fastest and the most reliable.

A number of trains move between the two cities carrying hundreds of passengers from one to the other. To make travelling much less of a hassle and to cut down on the travel time of passengers, the North Eastern Railways has decided to introduce the one stop Tejas Express between the two cities.

The train will only have a single stop-Kanpur, hence decreasing the time it takes to cover different stations. Hence, cutting down on the travel time. The train would only take 6 and a half hour to reach from one station to the other. Tejas is expected to run all days of the week except Thursday, reports TOI.

The train will depart from Lucknow at 6:50 am each day and reach Delhi at 1:35 pm, similarly the train would depart at 3:35 pm from Delhi and reach Lucknow at 10:05 pm. The train would make a stop at Kanpur at 8:05 am when it leaves from Lucknow and at 8:30 pm when it leaves from Delhi.

Why is it important?

The route between Lucknow and Delhi is quite a busy one and the train would share the loads of the trains that go overbooked months before their journey. Also, the train runs on all days of the week except Thursday hence people who are looking to make a round trip within a weekend would have ample opportunity to do so.
