Lucknow is set to get Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad International Shooting Range and Multipurpose Sports Complex, to be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. This project aims to boost local employment and provide a platform for state athletes.

In a recent review meeting, the Uttar Pradesh CM focused on enhancing the state's infrastructure, outlining several key upgrades to further modernise urban spaces.

Modern infrastructure, heritage conservation & more

The state CM also gave the green light for the Smart-Developed Municipality Scheme. This initiative will modernise urban infrastructure, introducing features like Gaurav Path, theme-based parks, EV charging stations, and digital services. Municipal bodies will receive grants of ₹4-10 crore based on efficiency and population to implement these upgrades. Along with this, Utsav Bhavan, the Community Centre, and ‘One District One Product’-based structures will also be established to strengthen the local economy.

The scheme will also emphasise heritage conservation, the revival of local reservoirs, and the deployment of 200 electric buses in Lucknow and Kanpur. Additionally, the CM also proposed a ‘hub-and-spoke’ model, linking smaller municipalities to central command centres for improved surveillance and streamlined grievance redressal. He further highlighted the importance of boosting financial autonomy for urban bodies, in line with the 74th Constitutional Amendment.
