Lucknow is finally experiencing the season’s first nip in the air, owing to north-westerly winds that caused a noticeable drop in temperatures over the weekend. Early Sunday morning, the city woke up to a light fog, reducing visibility to around 800 meters. But as the day unfolded, the fog lifted, leaving behind a cool, hazy vibe that made it feel like winter was officially here.
The high for the day reached 27°C, while the night saw temperatures drop to a crisp 13°C, setting the stage for the season ahead.
Looking ahead, Monday, November 24, is expected to bring similar conditions, with a daytime high of 26°C and a night time low of 12°C. Foggy mornings and clear, sunny afternoons are forecasted for the rest of the week.
The city’s AQI remains stubbornly in the 'poor' category. On Sunday, areas like Lalbagh and Aliganj were particularly polluted, with Lalbagh recording an AQI of 258. The Meteorological Department predicts the cold will intensify from early December, raising concerns that the air quality may worsen further in the coming days.
