Lucknow Weather | Nights turn nippy as the city witnesses a seasonal shift

Reports indicate a surge in flu, seasonal fever cases across Lucknow.

Lucknow, October 29: As October progresses, Lucknow is witnessing a pleasant shift in daytime weather, with clear skies, moderate breezes, and abundant sunshine. The maximum temperature has been hovering around 30°C, while the minimum has remained steady at around 20°C this week.

However, this seasonal comfort comes with a downside. Due to changes in wind patterns and rising atmospheric pressure, the city’s air quality has deteriorated sharply. As for today, Lucknow recorded a maximum AQI of 199 (categorised as unhealthy). Experts warn that pollution levels may worsen further with the upcoming Diwali festivities and an expected dip in temperature.

City hospitals have also reported a nearly 40% rise in flu and viral fever cases earlier this month, attributed to the sudden weather fluctuations.

Residents are advised to stay indoors during peak pollution hours, wear masks in crowded places, and use warmer clothing during the night to safeguard against respiratory and seasonal illnesses.
