Lucknow's BBAU to soon offer sponsored, full-time, part-time, JDP, re-registration PhDs

Khushbu Kirti

In a first, Lucknow's Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) will be introducing five different types of PhD programmes in its curriculum.

Aiming to offer quality research and training opportunities to working individuals in numerous fields, BBAU will come out with sponsored, full-time, part-time, re-registration and joint degree research programmes (JDP). Herein, the part-time PhD will be a 4-year course and will require an entrance test and interview for admission.

While the sponsored PhD will be sponsored by an individual's employer from an organisation where they've worked for at least 5 years, the re-registration programme will enable a research scholar to pursue a job during the course. In the latter, they would be able to put a halt in their research, work in a job and then re-join or re-register in the PhD programme. Additionally, the JDP will involve collaboration of partnering institutions.
