On World Environment Day, CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow inaugurated a new nursery and floriculture centre at its Banthara campus. Plant lovers and farmers can now access healthy plants and saplings, accompanied by expert guidance on plant care and cultivation techniques.

This marks NBRI’s second facility after its main campus nursery near Sikanderbagh. Director AK Shasany emphasised the significance of this year's theme, "land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience." The center also offers plant sales and serves as an information hub for NBRI’s products and technologies.

Scientists, students, and researchers, along with 100 participants from various organisations, pledged to protect the environment and conducted a plantation drive under the 'Vriksh Parigrah' initiative.
