The Indira Gandhi Planetarium in Lucknow opened its doors to the public on September 10, after the two-year-long pandemic hiatus. As per reports, all screenings here will be conducted as per the normal pre-COVID schedule from now on. All operations and shows at the planetarium will be conducted as per the pandemic safety norms, informed officials.

Amid the scaling impact of the coronavirus pandemic last year, the Council of Science and Technology had shuttered all three planetariums in UP, including the IG Planetarium in the state capital. With the advent of the second wave, the celestial science centre was under lockdown this year as well.
However, as most educational institutes in Lucknow have now reopened, which are incidentally the highest footfall generators here, the planetarium authorities have decided to get back in action as well. Reportedly, 4 shows will be screened here daily, each running for about 34 to 45 minutes. Titled 'Cosmic Journey', the programme will run in the Hindi language during all screenings, except for the first shows on Saturday and Sunday.
The planetarium will assure that all COVID-19 safety measures are followed during the shows to prevent the spread of COVID infection. A ₹25 ticket will be applicable for all visitors over the age of 3 years, while the entry is free for the specially-abled.
Timings: 11 AM to 6 PM; last entry at 5:30 PM
