A step to raise awareness about water conservation.

Aditya Vikram

After a meeting among officials of the Namami Gange Mission, Lucknow's Janeshwar Mishra Park has been earmarked to be developed as a state-wide model for rainwater harvesting. As part of this project, the latest rainwater harvesting technology will be used at JM Park in Lucknow.

Furthermore, a theme park will be developed here, featuring an interpretation centre to raise awareness about water conservation, an open-air theatre, and digitized messaging about rainwater harvesting.

At the meeting, officials also emphasised the importance of rainwater harvesting and the need for such conservation tactics to be taken up at grassroot levels. Parks, government buildings, primary schools, community health centres, parks, and Anganwadi centres across UP have also been encouraged to indulge in rainwater harvesting on priority.
