Currently being freed from encroachment, the area surrounding Lucknow's Kukrail River will be developed on the lines of Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Riverfront. This project will also include the development of two scenic and lush green parks on both banks of the river. The parks will also provide adventurous recreational activities to visitors.

Aiming to turn the area into a major eco-tourism hub

The area is touted to become a major eco-tourism hub with a focus on turning it into one of Lucknow's major attractions. Once the Zoo is shifted to Kukrail Forest, the country's first night safari will also be established there.

Notably, the authorities are also working on restoring the catchment area to its original form, which is vital for cleaning the Kukrail River and turning the clock back to its heydays.
