Lucknow is witnessing its third rainy day on Tuesday, with the Met Department issuing an Orange Alert. Residents can expect light rain and strong winds gusting today, with temperatures ranging between 26°C and 31°C.

This wet spell caps off the city's best monsoon in six years. Lucknow has recorded 542.7 mm of rainfall from June to August, its highest since 2020. The state of Uttar Pradesh has also seen its highest rainfall since 2022, with 579.2 mm.

According to senior scientist, this exceptional season is due to western disturbances and active cyclonic circulations. More rain is forecasted until Wednesday, with a slight drop in temperatures expected, promising continued relief from the heat.
