Lucknow experienced a dramatic shift in weather as a sudden and intense spell of 'toofani baarish' (stormy rain) enveloped the city this morning. The downpour led to darkened skies, reduced visibility, and waterlogged streets, disrupting daily life for residents.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for Lucknow and surrounding districts, warning of moderate thunderstorms accompanied by surface winds. This alert is in effect until 11:00 AM IST today. Residents are advised to follow State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) guidelines and exercise caution during this period.

Morning rains disrupts daily life

Residents were taken by surprise as heavy rains began early in the morning, leading to significant water accumulation in low-lying areas. Commuters faced challenges navigating through inundated roads, and the public transportation system experienced delays.

As the city faces this unexpected downpour, residents are reminded to prioritize safety and remain vigilant for any further weather updates.
