Lucknow's new art landmark! State WPL franchise, UP Warriorz, honoured with a 5,500 sq ft mural

The team will take on Gujarat Giants at Ekana Stadium today.

UP Warriorz, the state franchise of the Women's Premier League, has inaugurated a massive 5,500-square-foot mural at Kisan Bhavan in Lucknow. Created by artists from the Hope St Art Foundation in just six days, the artwork pays tribute to the team while promoting themes of women's empowerment.

The mural highlights the contributions of women across various spheres, emphasising their pivotal role in society. UP Warriorz players actively participated in the unveiling, adding their artistic touch to the masterpiece on Saturday.

UP Warriorz to contest against Gujarat Titans today

UP Warriorz will kick off their Women's Premier League (WPL) campaign today against Gujarat Giants, at Lucknow's Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, at 7:30 pm.

Led by captain Deepti Sharma, the squad features key players like Chinelle Henry, Kranti Goud, Alana King, Saima Thakor, Vrinda Dinesh, Shweta Sehrawat, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Ecclestone, Poonam Khemnar and Tanuja Lele, among others. The Warriorz will next take on Mumbai Indians on March 6, followed by a showdown against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 8.
