Preparations are in full swing for an extraordinary Uttar Pradesh Day celebration this January, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister laying out an ambitious plan for events spanning from January 24 to 26.
The celebrations will start with Youth Day on January 12, followed by a tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on January 23. Uttar Pradesh Day itself will be marked on January 24, with National Tourism Day and Voter Awareness Day on January 25, leading up to the grand Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
The main event for Uttar Pradesh Day will take place at Lucknow’s National Prerna Sthal, but the celebrations will extend across districts like Noida and Gautam Buddha Nagar, as well as in states like Delhi and Maharashtra. This extensive schedule is set to shine a spotlight on the state's vibrant culture, history, and achievements, with festivities spanning the state and reaching out to UP’s diaspora.
The Lucknow programme promises a vibrant cultural showcase. Block-level competitions in music, dance, and drama will be organised across the state, with winners earning the opportunity to perform at the grand finale in the capital. Special theatrical tributes dedicated to iconic leaders such as Sardar Patel and Atal Bihari Vajpayee will further elevate the cultural narrative of the event.
The event will also honour local heroes, progressive farmers, artisans, and other outstanding individuals. Showcasing UP’s famed ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) initiative, GI-tagged products, and One District One Cuisine depicting regional cuisines, this celebration will highlight the pride and heritage of Uttar Pradesh like never before.
