Lucknow’s Swati & Kanak win 5 medals at Uganda Para-Badminton Tournament 2025

The event featured para-badminton athletes from over 50 countries.

Swati and Kanak Singh from Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow, have brought international glory to India by winning multiple medals at the Uganda Para-Badminton International Tournament 2025. The event took place in Kampala, Uganda, from July 1 to 6, and featured para-badminton athletes from over 50 countries.

Medal Haul for Swati

Swati secured:

  • Gold in Women’s Doubles (SL3–SU5)

  • Silver in Women’s Singles (SU5)

  • Bronze in Mixed Doubles

Dual Bronze for Kanak Singh

Kanak Singh added to India’s tally with two bronze medals:

  • Women’s Singles (SL4)

  • Women’s Doubles

Coach Irshad Ahmed credited the players’ success to their dedication and self-belief. “With hard work and the right mindset, no challenge is impossible”, he was quoted as saying.
