Maha Kumbh Mela 2025: 400 special buses from Lucknow to Prayagraj for visitors' ease

As Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 draws near, Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is gearing up to manage the extensive transportation needs of devotees attending the religious gathering. Over 7,000 buses will be deployed, with 400 buses specifically assigned to the Lucknow Region, operating from the 13th of January to the 27th of March.

The buses will be dispatched from multiple depots, including Charbagh (78 buses), Awadh (61 buses), Kaiserbagh (92 buses), and a contracted depot at Kaiserbagh, providing 20 additional buses. Other depots supporting the operation include Rae Bareli (49 buses), Haidergarh (65 buses), and Alambagh (35 buses).

To ensure seamless operations and passenger comfort, UPSRTC has deployed a dedicated team of 74 personnel. This includes 41 staff members from the Lucknow Region and 33 technical experts, who will be stationed at temporary bus stations, check posts, and workshops at the Prayagraj fairgrounds to ensure smooth service during the event.
