Major traffic diversions near Defence Expo Ground in Lucknow from 4 PM on Jun 14; check routes

CM to distribute 60K police appointment letters; diversions effective till Sunday.

Lucknow is set for major traffic diversions from 4 PM today until Sunday evening due to the Defence Expo and a grand recruitment ceremony where the Chief Minister will distribute appointment letters to 60,244 newly selected police constables. With thousands expected to attend, the traffic police have implemented diversions on 20 key routes near the Defense Expo Ground in Vrindavan Colony.

Know the routes-

  • Amausi Airport route: Vehicles cannot enter via VIP turn; use Amausi Commercial turn instead.

  • Sector-7C to Sector-9A: Restricted, but alternate route via Telibagh from Utrethiya Railway Underpass.

  • Sector-8 to Sector-10: Closed; detour via Utrethiya Station Road or Telibagh.

  • Sector-09 to Sector-10 Canal Road: No entry allowed.

  • Gyan Sarovar Bridge to Sector-15: Restricted; use Chiraiyabag-Telibagh route.

  • Sector-16 & Sector-18 junctions: Movement barred towards event venue.

  • Kalindi Park to Sector-12: Traffic diverted via PGI trisection.

  • Telibagh & Utrethiya Squares: Alternate routes via Banglabazar, Khazana Market, and Smriti Upvan.

  • Raebareli Road traffic: Diverted via Mohanlalganj town to Kanpur-Lucknow Road.

Commuters are advised to plan routes in advance. The ceremony marks a historic moment for UP Police, with over 60,000 recruits joining the force. Expect heavy congestion, travel early or use public transport!
