Lucknow has seen a slight dip in temperature due to gusty winds and overcast skies, offering welcome relief from the heat. While the city remained dry on Monday, with clear skies on Tuesday, the weather department predicts rainfall with thunder on May 1, alongside winds at 30 to 40 km/h.

On Monday, Lucknow recorded a maximum of 37°C and a minimum of 24°C, but forecasters say that both figures may drop slightly over the next few days.

Showers and strong winds sweep through Eastern UP

As per reports, this weather pattern is expected to continue for the next few days. Rain and thunderstorms are also predicted in the Eastern and Terai regions today. Meanwhile, a weather alert has been issued for winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 km/h in several places.

The Regional Meteorological Centre of Uttar Pradesh stated that this change is due to the current active western disturbance and cyclonic circulation. On Monday, there was light rain with strong winds particularly in Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, and Maharajganj.

Temperature takes a tumble across UP

Thanks to widespread cloud cover brought by easterly winds, temperature across Uttar Pradesh has dropped by 2°C to 7°C over the past 48 hours. Eastern UP, in particular, is enjoying a mild relief during the day.

The Met Department has confirmed that this weather pattern is expected to continue until May 2 , with heavy rain likely on May 1 and 2 in several parts of the state. This is likely to prove beneficial for crops and agricultural activities.
