To enhance connectivity and increase passenger count, Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express will soon extend its route to Varanasi. Northern Railway's Lucknow Division has been asked to conduct a survey and prepare a feasibility report for the same.

While the train initially received a strong response, current ridership from Meerut to Lucknow remains low, causing revenue losses. The extension aims to address this imbalance by attracting more passengers.
