As part of Republic Day traditions, the Lucknow administration has planned a synchronised pause of 52 seconds, across the city for the national anthem. At 10 AM sharp, the national anthem will be played through public announcement systems and the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) at major intersections. Five minutes before the anthem begins, special sirens will alert citizens, and all traffic signals at crossings will turn red.
Police nodal officers will be stationed at key points to ensure seamless coordination during this citywide observance, emphasising the collective patriotic spirit of the day.
Along with this, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel will hoist the national flag at Vidhan Sabha at 10 AM. Following the ceremony, the national anthem will resonate across Lucknow.
The flag hoisting event at Vidhan Sabha will also be broadcast live on LED screens across the city, allowing residents to join in the patriotic celebrations.
The ceremonial Republic Day parade, a key highlight will follow its traditional route from the Vidhan Sabha area to Hazratganj. The preparations for the parade are in full swing, with rehearsals ongoing at the Police Lines. School children participating in the parade are also practising along the Hazratganj stretch during early morning hours.
