New airport-style restrooms coming up at Lucknow’s Charbagh Railway Station

The pay-and-use facility will offer better hygiene for a nominal fee.

An ultra-modern toilet, designed along the lines of airport amenities, is being constructed on Platform No. 1 of Lucknow’s Charbagh Railway Station. Currently in its final stages, the facility is expected to become operational within a week. It will function as a pay-and-use facility, offering improved hygiene and comfort to passengers for a nominal fee.

Addressing inconvenience for commuters

Although a pay-and-use toilet already exists near the parcel office on Platform 1, the platform’s 1.5 km stretch made it difficult for passengers to access from the opposite end. In response to frequent complaints, a new toilet is being constructed near the GRP post and the Rail Mail Service (RMS).

Expansion to other platforms

This initiative is part of a broader station modernisation plan. Officials have confirmed that similar toilet facilities will soon be constructed on other platforms at Charbagh Station.
