In a bid to enhance the representation of women in various workplaces, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) will soon have an all-women force titled Special Police Operation Team (SPOT). It will be the first-of-its-kind, all-female squad and will be tasked to tackle anti-hijacking and counter-insurgency operations as well as women trouble makers.

SPOT aims to train with foreign security forces

Reportedly, SPOT will be a 36-member batch of commandos trained by expert trainers from BSF, CISF, ITBP and other paramilitary forces. As of now, they have completed their Krav Maga training, as well as training by Korean coaches and martial arts. Currently, they are undergoing training with NSG, BSF, and ITBP.

Moreover, the SPOT will also be managing a dog squad, bomb disposal and a wireless trapping unit will be a part of the women commando unit.

In order to train SPOT commandos in terror tackling and other sensitive matters, the all-women squad will go under regular training modules with US Corps, Scotland Yard and Israeli counter-terror units. Additionally, the process to raise three all-woman battalions had also begun in the state.
