Lucknow’s international integrated terminal gets a go-ahead by the Union cabinet!

The union cabinet has given a go-ahead to the construction of Lucknow’s integrated international terminal, which will be based on the lines of Mughal architecture.

A new international terminal means an increase in accommodation space for more flyers. The estimated budget for the new terminal and remodelling is 1230 crore and will be ready by 2023.

Stretching over an area of 88 sq mt, the new terminal comes as a solution to prevent heavy congestion at peak hours. Once the project is ready, the terminal will be able to handle more than four thousand passengers in peak hours.

Annually, the new integrated terminal will be able to cater to 25 lakh international and more than 1 crore domestic passengers.The building is going to be a double storey structure with two level driveway facilities to reach the arrival and departure gates.

Multiple check-in kiosks and baggage drop points will be set up, for passenger convenience, quicker and congestion free movement.

The length of the runway will also be increased from the current 2.2 to 3.1km. This is going to facilitate the landing of bigger aircrafts such as Dreamliner. The apron area of parking will also be increased so that it can accommodate at least 25 aircraft instead of the current 19.

Better air transportation will also facilitate tourism Lucknow’s tourism and will open doors to many other sectors.
