Enhancing the educational framework of the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has now approved the updated guidelines which were proposed by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board). The guidelines were proposed for setting up new schools with the affiliation from the state board.

Reportedly, the order has been issued by the principal secretary, UP secondary education, Deepak Kumar, for ensuring quality education under the National Education Policy-2020.

What are the key guidelines?

Under the new guidelines, private schools affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad will be required to meet certain criteria which are:

  • Similarly, a standard requirement of 6,000 square metre land will be necessary for opening schools in rural areas.

  • With this, the security charge which is required to be deposited for acquiring recognition has also been revised.
