New station under Lucknow Police Commissionerate to be established in Itaunja

Jatin Shewaramani

With the objective of enhancing the city's security framework, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate has undertaken various initiatives. Notably, in November 2022, the authority executed a significant reshuffling of police zones, extending its jurisdiction to encompass several police stations from nearby rural areas.

Reportedly, the authority has now decided to establish a new police station in Itaunja, a Lucknow sub-district. This station, which will be established at the Mahigawan area near Bakshi Ka Talab will be the 53rd police station falling under the jurisdiction of Lucknow Police Commissionerate.

Lucknow Police Commissionerate set to promptly operationalize new police station

The state government has further granted approval for the establishment of a new police station. The Principal Secretary of Uttar Pradesh has instructed Police Commissioner S.B. Shirodkar to expedite all essential procedures to promptly operationalize this police station.

According to the directive, competent personnel, including a designated Station House Officer (SHO), will be appointed within the next 2 to 4 days to assume responsibilities at the newly established police station.

The establishment of this new police station, directly linked to the city commissionerate, is anticipated to significantly bolster police security in the outskirts of Lucknow.
