Khushbu Kirti

Here's some handy information, people! In order to improve the traffic situation in the city, roads in Lucknow have been put under stricter surveillance. As part of the new move, these 20 intersections have been earmarked in the first phase. Citizens illegally parking their vehicles in these areas will be fined.

These areas include — Charbagh, Hazratganj, Chowk, Polytechnic, Munshipulia, Nahariya Chauraha, Sarojininagar, Kapoorthala, Mahanagar, Vikas Nagar, Krishna Nagar, 1090 chauraha, Khurram Nagar, Sikanderbagh, Alambagh, near KGMU University, and Gudamba.

All you need to know

Under the Smart Traffic Management System, the challan reports will be sent to the office of the Divisional Commissioner in order to note the data or the number of vehicles being parked in and near no parking zones. The surveillance cameras, installed at these 20 significant intersections, will note the activity of parking and will be observed from the official control room at the Smart City office in Lalbagh. In short, you will be fined via e-challans from this control room directly.

If you're concerned about the lack of actual parking spaces, don't you worry because, under the system, more parking facilities are in the plans.

In the next phase, surveillance cameras will be installed at 15 new intersections to tighten the grip on the defaulters. With this system in place, the risk of accidents due to congestion on roads can also be avoided.
