Parts of UP to witness effects of cyclone ‘Mocha’ today with dark clouds, thunder & lightning

The increasing heat has made the day-to-day life of folks miserable in most parts of Uttar Pradesh. However, the weather conditions are scheduled to change as rainfall is predicted in several parts of Western UP on May 17. Possibility of high speed winds, thunder and lightning are also high today in areas like Mathura, Agra and Firozabad, Bundelkhand's Lalitpur, Jhansi, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Banda, Mahoba, Allahabad, Chitrakoot, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra. Lucknow, however, with 19km/h wind speed, has 1% chance of witnessing rainfall today.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has expressed apprehension about the effect of cyclone ‘Mocha’ in many districts, including Kanpur.

Effects of Cyclone Mocha in Kanpur  

Cyclone Mocha's effect was visible in Kanpur on May 15 morning. Light drizzling was witnessed during early hours of the day, followed by a clear sunny day and slight drop in degrees. As for the current status, maximum temperature in Kanpur on May 17 is predicted to stand at 41°C while the minimum temp will stay at 28°C, with zero changes in precipitation and 14km/h wind speed, as per The Weather Channel.

According to the Meteorological Department, for the next week, the temperature is expected to hover around 43°C in Kanpur.
