Lucknow University has announced the results of its inaugural inter-departmental ranking for science departments, a major milestone in advancing academic excellence.

The Department of Physical Sciences took the top spot among ten departments, followed by Zoology, Botany, Mathematics, Chemistry, Statistics, and Biochemistry. Departments were assessed on research grants, publications, and seminars, with Zoology leading in both research publications and grants.

The ranking evaluates departments based on performance indicators such as research output, faculty achievements, student accomplishments, and extension activities. A total of 34 qualitative and quantitative parameters were used for assessment.

The rankings were officially released by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai in the presence of key university officials, including Dean of Science Prof. Vivek Sahay and Director IQAC Cell Prof. Sangeeta Sahu.
