Every year, this festival offers a mesmerising experience that blends history, art and entertainment. Over 13 days, attendees can enjoy a spectacular lineup of folk dances, music performances, cultural showcases and thought-provoking addresses by eminent speakers. Plus, the event will showcase a bustling marketplace that features Indigenous stalls with traditional handicrafts, textiles and jewellery, authentic local delicacies and beyond.

A 'wonder' filled weekend getaway against the majestic backdrop of the Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahotsav, an annual cultural extravaganza held in the Shilpgram area near the east gate of Taj Mahal, has been a celebrated tradition since 1992. If you're planning to attend, here’s what makes this festival a must-visit:

  • An exhibit showcasing incredible craft of local artists and artisans from Uttar Pradesh, along with skilled craftsmen from across India.

How to reach from Lucknow or Kanpur:

From Lucknow:

  • By train: IRCTC Tejas Express, Gomti Express, Marudhar Express

  • By bus: Daily UPSRTC and private bus availability from Alambagh bus stand (avg. journey time 6.15 hours)

  • By road: Take a long drive via the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, perfect route with a distance of approximately 330 kilometers and takes about 4 to 5 hours.

From Kanpur:

  • By train: IRCTC Tejas Express, Gomti Express, Vaishali Express

  • By bus: Buses available from Bhoti Bypass, Faizalganj, Kanpur Bus Stand, Naubasta Chowraha, Rama Devi Chowraha (avg. journey time 7 hours)

  • By road: The driving distance between Kanpur and Agra is approximately 298 kilometres via NH16, taking around 3-4 hours.
