The Public Works Department has finally mapped a solution to the poor road infrastructure at Transport Nagar in Kanpur. The development agency will furnish 2 new CC or cement concrete roads here and the pivotal work for the same will be flagged-off in the first week of April, this year. As per the statement of the Executive Engineer at PWD, the project tender has been awarded to RR Enterprises.

For the last 4 years, the city commuters are dealing with the nuisance of dirt roads and potholes that route as roadways at Kanpur's Transport Nagar. As a solution to this, the state PWD has decided to develop 2 new CC roads here, bringing ease of travel to the city dwellers.
Reports have also highlighted that this area lacks a proper drainage system as well. This not only blocks waters during monsoon, dissuading regular travellers to take this passage but also clogs the godowns of small enterprises set-up here. All material and goods are ruined, consequently, adding to the woes of the business owners.
The new roads have been proposed as a solution to all these daily civic problems. Officials believe that a better roadway will pave way for an amplified network and give a boost to the organisations set up here.
The term CC roads stand for cement concrete roads which are nowadays more preferred against the conventional bituminous roads. It is usually suited for smaller roads and in private sectors, including institutes and PSUs as well. Concrete, by virtue, is structurally firm and does not alter its state after the initial construction. It is also far easy to repair and replace than the conventional asphalt roads that break and damage easily.
