Lucknow's National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) has set up a new lab on its premises, known as the 'Parijat Lab'. This new lab will be used to conduct research and development of perfumes made from all-natural ingredients.

Known as 'Perfume City' UP's Kannauj also boasts of an extensive Fragrance & Flavour Development Center. The setting up and operations of this new perfume lab in Lucknow will be assisted by this center in Kannauj.

The new lab will oversee everything from producing the raw material to using it to make the perfume and all the research work in between. Furthermore, the Parijat Lab will make use of the leftover flowers that are grown by farmers in the state, under the floriculture mission.

In addition to that, the NBRI will also involve private players who are interested in the research and production of nature-based perfumes of a diverse variety.
