Section 144 extended in Lucknow till July 16 due to upcoming festivals, exams, and more!

In view of the upcoming festivals and entrance examinations, Section 144 has been extended in Lucknow until July 16, 2024. Initially imposed on March 17 due to the Lok Sabha elections, Section 144 was to remain in effect until May 17 to ensure political parties followed the code of conduct and to prevent demonstrations that could disrupt harmony.

The new order, issued on May 18, aims to avoid any disturbances during the upcoming months, which include entrance examinations, programs, and important festivals.
