Section 144 imposed in Lucknow until May 17, ahead of Lok Sabha elections & festivals

In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and festivals, Section 144 has been imposed in Lucknow till May 17. This preventive measure restricts gatherings of four or more individuals in a defined area.

The General Elections are scheduled to occur in seven phases, commencing on April 19. Lucknowites will cast their votes in the fifth phase, slated for May 20. The culmination of the electoral process will be marked by the counting of votes on June 4.
