66 people in Lucknow tested positive for dengue on Friday, marking the sharpest single-day spike of this season. This fresh load has taken the total count to over 500 cases here, read reports. The rise in cases has raised alarms across the district, forcing the health department to issued notices to around 27 houses in the city that are vulnerable to mosquito-borne conditions.

Out of the 66, a majority of 62 patients were traced via the government hospitals in Lucknow, while the remaining 4 got tested at private pathologies. Notably, two tests - the card and ELISA are being used to detect the dengue infection and severity among patients. These methods have helped to identify a total of 29 patients at Balrampur Hospital in Lucknow. Many of these are hospitalised, suggested records.
A total of 24 patients have been found to be dengue positive at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (Civil) Hospital in Luckow. Around 6 of these have been admitted to the institute for medical attention. Similarly, around 4 of the total 9 dengue patients detected at the OPD of Lokbahndhu Hospital in Lucknow were hospitalised due to critical infection.

As per health records, several prominent locales of the city, including Aliganj, Indiranagar, Alambagh, Intauja, Sarojininagar and Naval Kishore Road, among others have been marked as hotspots. Regular fogging drives are being conducted here to prevent further spread. Besides, the anti-larvae drives and destruction of mosquito breeding spots have also been made frequent across Lucknow to eliminate the rise of dengue-causing vectors.
On Friday, targetted health teams surveyed a total of 2,795 houses in Lucknow to assess the arrangements of dengue prevention here. Around 27 households were issued notices to warn them about the likeliness of a dengue attack, added reports. People are urged to maintain prime standards of sanitation around their houses to prevent dengue contraction.
