Starting today, Lucknow's Charbagh Station rolls out new parking rules and more | Details inside

Aimed at streamlining parking and putting an end to the chaos outside.

In a bid to put an end to the seemingly perpetual congestion at Lucknow's Charbagh Station, Northern Railways (NR) has given all the parking lots at the station to one vendor. From today, the chosen private player will operate the parking lots in a streamlined manner while also managing the traffic outside the station.

'No Entry' for commercial vehicles without a fee

Starting today, commercial vehicles will not be allowed to enter the station without paying a stipulated fee. Furthermore, the parking space will be classified into three categories: two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and cars.

Boosting convenience for passengers, the new operator will also be offering the prepaid auto-booking service. Also, the pick-and-drop facility at the station will be 'free' only for a stipulated time and charges will be levied after that.

All these steps are being taken to avoid unnecessary and undue halts and several more such measures are expected to be taken in the near future, as well.
