Tejas & Pushpak Express to operate from Gomti Nagar Station soon

New Ayodhya to Janakpuri train to launch by October.

The Tejas Express and Pushpak Express, India’s first corporate and VIP trains, will soon shift to Gomti Nagar station in Lucknow, offering passengers relief from traffic congestion at Charbagh. This change is part of a plan to reduce the load on Charbagh and Lucknow Junction.

The shifting is expected to take around three months, with schedules to be announced soon. Gomti Nagar station, under development to be world-class, will also increase train services.

Trains to face delays up to 150 minutes mid-September

Additionally, a new direct train service connecting Ayodhya to Janakpuri in Nepal is anticipated to launch by October. The route, planned via Gorakhpur and Darbhanga, will feature 22 coaches with multiple classes, including AC and sleeper accommodations. This service, currently under discussion with the Nepalese government, aims to strengthen cultural and religious tourism between the two destinations.

Passengers should note, however, that upcoming signalling work from September 10–16 on the Northern Railway line will cause significant delays, ranging from 45 to 150 minutes, for several key trains, including the Double Decker Express and Avadh Assam Express. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly during this period.
