The development of the Jagrani Hospital-Khurram Nagar-Indira Nagar flyover is progressing rapidly. Reportedly, UP PWD has now initiated the pole-shifting work on the flyover. Due to this recent development, the traffic between Jagrani Hospital/Kalyanpur and the Khurram Nagar area will remain diverted today and tomorrow, i.e., August 4-5.

The PWD executive engineer on the flyover project, Rajneesh Gupta has stated that the pole shifting work on the stretch will be carried out between 10 AM to 4 PM.

What are the alternative routes?

The traffic coming from the Engineering College route will be diverted from the Tedhipulia intersection towards Mama Chauraha on the right side. These vehicles will then be able to move towards Khurram Nagar intersection via the Vikas Nagar Trisection route. From here the vehicles can simply move towards Munshi Puliya to reach their desired destination.

Besides this, traffic will remain closed from Kalyan Apartment to Indiranagar Sector 19 on Bandha Road from 8 AM to 8 PM on Saturday.

Flyover project eyes completion by Dec 30, 2024

The flyover is being constructed between Jagrani Hospital in Kalyanpur and the Sector 25 intersection in Indira Nagar. The 4-lane flyover is the first of its kind in the state, utilizing V-shape columns for construction. The project is scheduled for completion by December 30, 2024, as per the DPR.

The flyover is expected to provide a streamlined commute on this stretch, which previously used to face severe traffic snarls during both peak and non-peak hours.
