When it comes to environmental conservation, nothing works as good as recycling. And contrary to what many people think, just a bit of recycling on a daily basis can go a long way. The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) recently took to X to elaborate how much would it mean to recycle just 1 ton of paper.

According to the numbers, for each ton of paper we recycle, we save 20 trees, 7000 gallons of water, 3 cubic yards of landfills space, and up to 60 pounds of pollution. What's more? We also save enough power to successfully power the average household for a period of six months.

But to recycle paper successfully, waste segregation is incredibly important. Fortunately, we have waste segregation dustbins across the city like the ones we find on the stretch through Fun Republic Mall towards Samta Mulak intersection.

Dustbins in public spaces are colour-marked and must be carefully used for the proper disposal of garbage. If we make full use of these bins, especially when it comes to discarding paper waste, the majority of such waste can reach the recycling plant. As a result, Lucknow can make huge strides towards a sustainable future.
