UP Assembly monsoon session begins; traffic diversions in Lucknow till Aug 16

The monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature starts today, August 11, and will run till August 16. In light of this, significant traffic diversions have been implemented in Lucknow to accommodate heightened security measures. High-profile officials, including the Governor, Chief Minister, and other dignitaries, will be present for the session.

Check traffic restrictions and alternative routes- 

1. Bandariya Bagh Crossing

  • Restriction: No traffic towards Vidhan Sabha

  • Alternate Route: Use Lal Batti, Cantt, Golf Club, or 1090 crossing

2. DSO Chauraha

  • Restriction: Hazratganj/Vidhan Sabha road closed

  • Alternate Route: Divert via Park Road-Mayfair Tiraha

3. Royal Hotel Chauraha

  • Restriction: No entry towards Hazratganj or Vidhan Sabha

  • Alternate Route: Take Kaiserbagh, Parivartan Chowk, Subhash Chauraha, Chiraiyajheel, or Burlington to Cantt

4. Sankalp Vatika Bridge Tiraha

  • Restriction: Buses cannot go via Sikandarbagh, Hazratganj, or Vidhan Sabha

  • Alternate Route: Detour via Baikunth Dham, Gandhi Setu (1090), Bandariyabagh, Lal Batti, or Cantt

5. KCC Tiraha (Charbagh)

  • Restriction: Buses barred from Hussainganj, Royal Hotel, Vidhan Sabha

  • Alternate Route: Use Loco Chauraha, Cantt, or Burlington via Kaiserbagh

6. Gomti Nagar

  • Restriction: Buses restricted from Sikandarbagh, Hazratganj, Vidhan Sabha

  • Alternate Route: Take Baikunth Dham, Sankalp Vatika Overbridge, Chiraiyajheel, Gandhi Setu (1090), Bandariyabagh, or Cantt

7. Sikandar Bagh Crossing

  • Restriction: No movement towards Hazratganj/Vidhan Sabha

  • Alternate Route: Use Dainik Jagran crossing, Balu Adda, Gandhi Setu (1090), or Chiraiyajheel

8. Parivartan Chowk/Hindi Sansthan Tiraha

  • Restriction: No access to Hazratganj/Vidhan Sabha.

  • Alternate Route: Detour via Kaiserbagh, Chiraiyajheel, Sankalp Vatika, Sikandarbagh, or Cantt.

9. DSO Square to Sisendi Tiraha

  • Restriction: Closed towards Royal Hotel Square

  • Alternate Route: Use Hazratganj Square, Mayfair Square, or Burlington Square to Cantt

While these changes will affect general traffic flow, emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks will be allowed to pass through restricted areas. Drivers can call the traffic control room at 9454405155 for assistance. The police have ramped up surveillance and will closely monitor all activities to ensure smooth operations during the session.
