Covid-19: Uttar Pradesh becomes the first state in India to test more than 2 cr samples

UP has become the first state in the country, to have tested more than two crore samples for Covid-19. Apart from vigorous testing, the state has also been implementing protocols and SOPs from time to time, in order to curb the spread of the virus. Currently, the most number of active cases are being reported from the capital, Lucknow. With 263 new cases on December 5, the total number of active Coronavirus cases and confirmed cases in Lucknow has reached 3,393 and 73,101 respectively.

Increased testing to keep a check on the second wave

Systematic execution of testing & tracking of Coronavirus cases along with the treatment of the patients, is highly important in order to break the chain and most importantly to keep a check on the second wave. In view of the same, the state authorities have been making continuous attempts to increase testing capacity. With this the state has now become the first in the country to test more than two crore samples (2,01,28,312). So far, 5,22,867 people have recovered from the infection, while 7,900 fatalities have been reported in the state.

Now people in UP can locate the nearest COVID testing centres using the Mera Covid Kendra App. Moreover, the government of UP has also enabled free testing facilities and have simultaneously fixed prices for testing in private labs, which is a big relief for people, already suffering with the symptoms.
