UP Govt announces 4-day public holiday for Holi, Holika Dahan in Lucknow, Kanpur & other districts

Schools, banks, and government offices will remain closed.

This year, Lucknow, Kanpur and other Uttar Pradesh districts will observe a four-day consecutive holiday on the occasion of Holi and Holika Dahan, as per the state government's official calendar. All schools, colleges, banks and government offices will remain closed during this period.

According to the state government’s holiday schedule, the holidays are scheduled as follows:

  • March 13, 2025 (Thursday): Holika Dahan

  • March 14, 2025 (Friday): Holi

  • March 15, 2025 (Saturday): Weekend

  • March 16, 2025 (Sunday): Weekend

However, the holiday on 15 March will be subject to individual organisational policies.
